A new era has begun. A new world is already here. Most of us live oblivious to the amount of options we have to make conscious and smart decisions about how we live our lives and how we can positively impact our environment by those decisions. The team of Younicos, a sustainable energy storage and network company out of Germany, is working hard to provide us with energy products that are CO2-free and renewable.  We often think that being green and environmentally responsible comes at a cost. That is no longer the case. The decision of being green now offers all the flexibility and cost saving experience into our daily lives.

Please welcome Yill, a new mobile energy storage unit that fits into your workplace and was presented during MILAN design week 2011 in Zona Tortona. Whether you happen to do your job in a commercial rented space or perhaps you move around the city to indoor and outdoor spaces where you find inspiration, Yill comes with you. Yill stores the energy to power a modern workstation for two to three days without tangling cords and obtrusive cables. Using a rechargeable lithium titanium battery, Yill is able to recharge quickly and have a significantly longer operating life. Not only is Yill mobile but it also has a tremendous impact in the development of workplace environments and interior fit outs. No need for raised access flooring; you can save on construction costs.

No exposed cords or cables, floor poke through devices that act as a tripping hazard or the old fashioned “tombstone” power source when you can’t afford to drill into the slab; with Yill, you can have an open and clean floor plate that allows you to move and power up anywhere. How will this change the quickly evolving work space? Now we can create open plans where there is no designated area per individual; you are just as mobile as your mobile equipment.  Energy comes to you, rather than you locating to it.  Now you can actually put your investment into what matters most, the people and the comfortable environment that impacts the bottom line.
